Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are between clients and Reis Med Tungland AS when you book an “Adventure” with Paka Adventures. Please read the terms thoroughly before you confirm your booking.


1. Agreement

Paka Adventures provides and tailors travel itineraries in close cooperation with you who will attend the journey. Program and prices that are presented at the time of booking, and payment of deposit, will be the agreement between you as customer, and Paka Adventures as supplier of the services.

Changes of itineraries/programs, lodging, ECT, can be done during the journey provided Paka Adventures. Or its representative can accommodate the changes. In some cases, planed routes of travel might have to be altered, due to unforeseen events. If this accurse then the client will be notified immediately. And if possible, you will be supplied with alternative lodging of same standard.

Paka Adventures has the right to subcontract all, or part of its service, or changes the whole itinerary or program should conditions necessitate a change.

2. Tour price

The quoted price includes all taxes, government fees. In addition, any special request shall require additional fees to be paid by the client.

Paka Adventures has the right to adjust the prices should there be an increase in government taxes, fees, transportation costs and/or severe changes in foreign exchange rates. All price change will be justified and documented. Note: All Paka Adventures prices are quoted in U.S. dollars unless other is specified / agreed upon.

3. Booking

A conformation deposit of 300 $ per traveller shall be paid within 14 days after the booking is agreed upon. The deposit will confirm this agreement and Paka Adventures will make all the necessary preparations for your adventure.

A 50 % of the total price (minus the deposit) shall be paid 90 days before your arrival and the balance must be paid latest 30 days before the start of the journey. If your booking is made within 30 days of the time you plan to travel then the full amount must be paid in order to confirm your booking, and to start all necessary preparations.

4. Cancelation and refunund

If you have to cancel your already booked trip before 30 days of arrival then your deposit will be refunded with exemption of already forwarded deposits for lodging, transportation, government taxes etc. also an administration fee of 200 U.S. dollar per person will be charged. If your cancellation comes within 30 days of the booked trip, then 50% of the cost will be refunded. If the cancellation comes within 15 days before the start of your trip, then you will still have to pay the full amount agreed upon.

If there is an unforeseen illness before your safari begins then Paka Adventures Ltd. will consider the possibility of changing and adjusting your itinerary. If this cannot be done, then we will supply you with a driver and vehicle all the days that you were booked (The latter will also be available if somebody gets sick during the journey).

5. Safari

All Paka Adventures safari prices includes lodging during your safari, any additional stay in Tanzania after the conclusion of your safari is not included in the price unless otherwise stated in the contract.

Included in the safari price:
Payment for lodging, food and water. All park fees and other expenses stated in your itinerary. There will be three meals a day on your safari, except for first day will be lunch and dinner, and last day will be breakfast and lunch.

Not included in the safari price:
The following are not included in the safari price: Soda, alcohol, laundry, tips for the crew and staff. (TIPS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

6. Kilimanjaro and other mountain hiking destinations

Paka Adventures requires everyone to be prepared and to have the correct equipment for all our hiking trips. After signup, our subcontractor reserves the right to dismiss a trip member at any time for any reasons where the trip member’s condition or behaviour could endanger other member of the trip or themselves.

Please note that for clients undertaking a trekking itinerary we offer first class guides, porters and provide safety equipment where needed. We are not responsible for guides and rangers provided by TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks) or similar authorities. If you are obliged to abandon an activity due to your own physical limitations, there is no refund of payments made and costs of any additional accommodation and/or transport fees are not the responsibility of Paka Adventures.

Due to the nature of this wilderness trip, certain events may occur which could cause additional costs not planned for. Including but not limited to currency fluctuation, change in costs or means of conveyance, the cost of evacuation, medical treatment, body recovery and/or repatriation and other related matters. Those additional costs are not the responsibility of Paka Adventures – the trip member is responsible for the payment of those costs. Any search and rescue undertaken on the trip member’s behalf will be the financial responsibility of the trip member involved, including any costs incurred by Paka Adventures, other expeditions, governments or other entities.

Not included in the price:
The following are not included in the price: Soda, alcohol and tips for the guide cook and porter. (TIPS ARE EXPECTED AS INFORMED).

7. Special terms

Insurance:
You are responsible for having the necessary documents for your travel (passport, visa etc.), and for having any insurance you may need. Also, vaccinations are recommended for all travellers coming to Tanzania. If you are not insured (or your insurance are not covering your needs), Paka Adventures will not be liable for injuries or illnesses affecting you during your travel, whatever the cause.

Force majeure:
The customer have a right to be refunded the deposit with exception of already forwarded deposits for lodging, transportation costs, government taxes and fees etc. and a administration fee of 200 U.S. dollar per person, if there at the area of travelling, or in the vicinity, are acts of war, natural catastrophes, outbreak of contagious diseases or other events of same character, and that circumstances seems to be affecting the scheduled trip. The same will be if these circumstances happen on, or along the route of our trips, and put our travellers at risk. This right to cancellation does not apply if it’s clear that the circumstances were known to the customer before accepting our agreement for the journey.

Liability:
Paka Adventures, our employees or agents acts as agents for the owners, and supply the services agreed upon, but assumes no responsibility whatsoever for injury, personal illness, loss or damage to persons or property resulting from; delays, quarantines, strikes, thefts, pilferage, force majeure, delays upon arrival/departure, civil disturbance, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations, and discrepancies or changes in lodging services in which Paka adventures has no control over.

Paka Adventures and/or our local operators reserve the right to make reasonable changes in the itinerary when deemed advisable for the comfort and safety for our travellers. This includes, but is not limited to, substitution of lodging, alteration of the itinerary, and reversing the order of the places to visit.

You as traveller have the duty to obey the rules and regulations given by authorities, the travel agent or the travel agent representative, hereunder regulations from the place of accommodation, or from your driver/guide. You can be held liable if you willingly or unwillingly causing the operator losses by not obeying the abovementioned regulations.

Risk:
All travel or safari includes some elements of risks, and that you as customer/s accept these when you enter an agreement with that understanding.

8. Pictures

Paka Adventures reserves the right to use pictures from your travel within our marketing. But we will do our best to respect all individuals’ right to privacy.

9. Signature

By making a deposit both parties are representing that they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions set forth in this contract.

If the problem/s cannot be resolved please submit a letter of complaint within 28 days of your return to Paka Adventures Ltd. via email.

Paka Adventures Ltd. will thoroughly investigate any complaints and report back to the correspondent.
