A short boat ride from Mafia Island take you to the feeding ground of the whale sharks, and you will see the dark shade in the sea. These gentle giants, measuring 8 meters long, beautifully marked with spots and stripes. They are slow moving and filter eating, and not dangerous even though they are the largest known extant fish specie. An impressing site next to the boat, and quite stunning under water. Up till round 20 sharks can be seen at the same time as they often stay together like a big family. The boat can move along them and you may swim and snorkel towards them to get as close to them as you want.
